Port of Kinmen reimagines the conventional transit terminal as a vibrant regional gateway where landscape, architecture, and movement merge into a unified experience. The proposal extends the adjacent park seamlessly through the site toward the ocean, transforming the building’s base into a living public landscape that fulfils the requirement for 50% green space while softening the boundary between nature and built form.
The architecture unfolds as a sculpted landform composed of a lush, terraced base and four tailored towers shaped around their individual programmatic needs. Strategically positioned to optimize circulation, daylight, and views, the cascading forms evoke the gentle transition between land and sea while creating a fluid architectural expression rooted in movement and topography.
